Asheville’s motto is “Keeping it Weird”. There’s a reason for it and I hope it never changes. We moved here from New Jersey (of all places) and fell in love with the area. It’s not just Asheville, but all of the surrounding mountain towns, scenery, food, and crazy things that you can see and do. It’s one of those mixed cultural places that doesn’t seem to have many boundaries, and I mean it in a positive way.
The melting pot goes well beyond race and religion and delves into other types of cultural diversity. It’s really hard to describe, it’s a place I recommend visiting to really get the full scope of the area and it’s art, music, and creativity.
It’s one of those “we accept” you places.
Below are some of the recommended places to eat, and visit, and things to do in the area. These are just suggested starting points as it would take months to fully explore the area and all there is to see and do.
Recommended things to do, things to try, and places to eat!
